Just curious, as I sort of accidentally came out as poly and bi at work today to our new GM...

I don't plan to be out about parts of my private life when I get my next employment (currently unemployed waiting on some services to start up to change that). I tend to like keeping my private affairs and work things separate.

A couple of my coworkers (and a couple of my now ex-coworkers as well) know, but that's it. I'm not opposed to telling a few others, but I also work in a close-knit environment where everyone's friendly and generally easy-going about whatever. No-one's had any problems with me about it, though they were almost universally surprised (I guess I don't come across as what they'd expect a bi or poly person to be like).

For me the bi thing came up when there were joking (totally joking nobody was serious) about how we needed to fill the "minority quotients" in the store and I pointed out that I covered the lgbt & Jewish niche. But the poly bit happened when we were talking about a new story I'm working on and I gave a mini-seminar on trans* representation as well as other gsrm type issues and since she kept asking questions I kept answering. I pointed out that I never wanted to shove it down anybody's throat but I have no reason to hide how I live my life.
